Our gift to you.

We’re wrapping up our brand spankin’ new recipe packet for Prescribe 20 and are so excited about this one. We’ve partnered with Kate with Body Nourish and these recipes are to die for [what else would you expect, right?] So without further ado, we give you a sneak peek into our Prescribe 20 recipe packet thanks to Kate!

Quinoa & Apple Porridge – 2 servings

  • 1 1/2 cups quinoa
  • 1/4 cup gluten-free rolled oats
  • 1 3/4 cups non-dairy milk, your choice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 apple, cored and chopped or grated
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter [or other nut butter]
  • 2 teaspoons honey or pure maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons nuts or seeds of your choice [optional]
  • 2 fresh figs, sliced [optional]

Rinse quinoa in a mesh colander. Add to a saucepan with the oats, milk, cinnamon, and chopped apple over medium heat. Bring to a boil, then cover with a lid, reduce heat to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes. Quinoa is finished when it is soft and creamy.

Pour into bowls and add more milk if needed. Top with almond butter, honey, nuts or seeds or your choice and sliced figs! Enjoy warm.

This porridge is perfect for a cozy winter morning and it’ll keep your blood sugar levels stable throughout the day. Added bonus? Use leftover quinoa from the evening before and throw this breakfast together in no time!

We’ve got a lot more where that came from. Seriously, a lot. Let’s ring in the New Year feeling like champs why don’t we? Prescribe 20 kicks off January 10th and we’d love to have you join our tribe. Grab your spot here now and use ‘GETREADY’ for a little extra love [aka cash back in your pocket].

Are the recipes for Prescribe 20 somewhat kid friendly? This recipe looks great and would work for my 2 and 4 year old. I am just concerned about signing up and then feeling overwhelmed with complicated recipes that my kids won’t be interested in. Thanks!

Hey Shauna! thanks for reaching out. We make every effort to have our recipes be a hit for the whole family – we believe in one meal for one family 😉 In reality we know that’s not always that easy – with allergies and true picky eaters, but we really do our best. We focus on simple recipes but with a lot of flavor – so there may be new ingredients like spices or other ingredients, but the steps themselves are always as simple as possible. I hope this helps, we’d love to have you!
