Our New Year’s Eve Game Plan

Sometimes the most overrated night of the year, but also sometimes the best. We’ll be celebrating right along with you guys so we figured we would share our game plan with you so we don’t ring in 2016 feeling less than stellar.

Start your day off with a hearty breakfast. Fat, fiber, protein is the name of the game here. Think: veggie and egg scramble, overnight oats, a green smoothie – so many options. Don’t skimp on meals today because you may be indulging later. Eat your meals and snacks as usual. Fuel up for your night ahead!

Hydrate early and often. Drink water throughout the day, not just when you start drinking. What do we aim for? Take your body weight [in pounds] divide in half – that is the number of ounces you should aim for each day and especially today. Ex: If you weigh 200 lbs, shoot for 100 oz of water.

When it comes to party time: upgrade, upgrade, upgrade. Avoid those sugary drinks and desserts if possible [we’ve got an upgraded cocktail for you below]. Sip on your choice of alcohol and try to follow the 1:1 rule to feel your best in the AM – 1 glass of water for every 1 alcoholic drink. Avoiding alcohol but want to be sly about it? Sparkling waters with fun mix ins [rosemary sprig, lemon, lime, berries, etc] are always delicious. Kombucha is another fun bubbly option and the probiotics will definitely leave you feeling better than anyone else at the party.
